County players finish as Victory Shield Runners-Up

Caernarfonshire players Iwan Lewis and Jac Roscoe enjoyed an outstanding run to the final of the prestigious Victory Shield before finishing as runners-up in the national men’s scratch foursomes competition at Prestatyn Golf Club.

Representing Royal St Davids Golf Club, the pair produced an excellent performance in the morning semi-final, defeating Newport 2up to book their place in the afternoon final.

They then faced a strong pairing from Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club in the championship match. Despite another determined display, Lewis and Roscoe were beaten 3&1 to finish as this years runners-up.

The Victory Shield is one of the country’s premier men’s scratch foursomes competitions, attracting many of the strongest club pairings from across Wales. Reaching the final is a tremendous achievement and reflects the quality and consistency both players have shown throughout the competition.

The event, held at Prestatyn Golf Club on the eve of the Welsh Amateur Championship, provided a fitting stage for an excellent day’s golf, and Iwan and Jac can be immensely proud of their performances.

Everyone at Caernarfonshire Golf Union congratulates both players on a fantastic achievement and wishes all of the county players good luck for the Welsh Amateur.
