Positive Progress at County U14 Junior Coaching Session

The county’s continued investment in junior development was on show this weekend as our Under-14 players took part in another excellent coaching session at Conwy Golf Club, delivered by George Davies Golf.

The session focused on key areas of the short and long game, with juniors working on putting, chipping, and mid-iron play on the range. Throughout the day, George delivered a fantastic coaching programme, introducing simple yet highly effective practice techniques designed to help players improve with clear goals and measurable outcomes.

A particular focus of the session was helping players practice with purpose, using scoring systems and structured challenges to encourage immediate feedback and continued development.

The standard of golf on display was hugely encouraging, with the players showing ability and maturity well beyond their years. The future of county golf continues to look bright, and it is exciting to see such talent developing through the junior pathway.

Ben Brown, the U14 organiser, commented on how impressed they were with the group, praising both their attitude and golfing ability, while expressing enthusiasm for following their progress throughout the season. Players have been encouraged to keep the county updated with handicap changes and achievements as the year progresses, helping to showcase their continued development.

The county would like to thank George Davies for delivering such an engaging and valuable session, and we look forward to seeing the progress made by all players throughout the 2026 season.

We are also pleased to be able to provide opportunities such as these for our junior golfers and remain committed to supporting the development of the next generation of county players.
