Who We Are
The data controller responsible for your personal data is the Caernarfonshire & District Golf Union. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can contact us at:

What Data We Collect
We may collect and hold the following types of personal information:
Name, email address and telephone number when you contact us through the website or submit an enquiry form. Name, club affiliation and handicap index in connection with county competition entries and County Card applications. Names and contact details of club delegates and officers supplied to us by affiliated clubs.
We do not collect sensitive personal data, and we do not collect data from anyone we know to be under the age of 13 without appropriate consent.
How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected. This includes responding to enquiries submitted through our contact form, administering county competition entries and results, managing the County Card scheme, communicating with club delegates and officers about county matters, and sending information about CDGU events, competitions and news where you have consented to receive it.
We will never sell your personal data to third parties, and we will not use it for any purpose that you would not reasonably expect.
Our Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal grounds under UK GDPR: legitimate interests, where we have a genuine organisational reason to process your data that does not override your rights; consent, where you have actively provided your information and agreed to its use; and contractual necessity, where processing is needed to fulfil a commitment we have made to you, such as processing a competition entry.
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited data with Wales Golf and the North Wales Counties Golf Association where required for competition administration, handicap management or compliance with their governance requirements. We may also share data with third-party services that help us run this website, such as our hosting provider, where those providers are bound by appropriate data protection agreements.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose it was collected. Competition records and results are retained for a reasonable period for historical and administrative purposes. Contact enquiry data is deleted once the matter has been resolved. If you would like us to delete your data sooner, please contact us using the details above.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data. You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to request that inaccurate data is corrected, to request that your data is deleted where there is no longer a legitimate reason for us to hold it, to object to or restrict our processing of your data, and to request that your data is provided to you in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at secretary@cdgu.co.uk. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.
