Men’s County Team

The Men’s county team is one of the most competitive in North Wales, with Caernarfonshire boasting a strong record in both the NWCGA inter-county championship and the annual Scratch & Youth Championship. Scratch players from any affiliated club are eligible for selection, with the team managed and selected by the County Captain in consultation with the county’s pool of experienced players.

The county competes across two distinct competitions within the NWCGA framework: the inter-county matchplay championship against Anglesey, Denbighshire and Flintshire, and the open Scratch Championship day at which individuals and teams represent their county for the prestigious Championship Shield, the Scratch Cup and the Keegan Bowl for under-21s.

Caernarfonshire’s men’s team has enjoyed considerable success in recent seasons, winning the North Wales Four Counties League in 2025 and claiming the NWCGA Championship Shield on multiple occasions. Players from the county have also represented the NWCGA combined team against English county opposition in cross-border fixtures.
