The 2024 Open Seniors Championships were held at Abersoch GC on Tuesday 24th September. Despite the previous day's weather, we had dry, bright and sometimes sunny weather for our Competition. Forty players supported the event, and a few players scored well.
The County would like to thank all the players who participated, the Bar and Catering Staff, Alan the Pro and of course Abersoch Golf Club for allowing us to have courtesy of the Golf Course.

A total of 86 golfers gathered at Nefyn Golf Club on Sunday 18th August 2024. The weather was sunny with a breeze coming off the sea. The first group teed off at 11:00am and the last group were out at 2:30pm.
Thanks were given to all who supported the day, and to Nefyn Golf Club for use of the course, and to the Bar and Catering staff who provided refreshments throughout the day.

On Sunday 23rd June 24 Players took part in the Caernarfonshire & District Handicap Championships at Anglesey Golf Club (Rhosneigr). Although the day started with miserable weather, by the time the players commenced their round, the clouds were clearing and the sun made an appearance. Roy Littler, defending Champion, ex member of Anglesey Golf Club and current member of Maesdu Golf Club has done 'the double' and successfully defended his title for another year. Well done Roy!

Informal Get-together at Nefyn on Sunday 28/4/24
On Sunday 28th April 2024 a total of 15 players met up at Nefyn golf Club to play an informal round, bringing back together some of our regular Competition attendees after the Winter, to start our Summer Season of Competitions.

The Championships this year was held at Rhos-on-Sea Golf Club, on Tuesday 12th September 2023. A total of 42 players competed for the title of County Champion and this was won by Dave Roberts of Hawarden Golf Club and Rhos-on-Sea Golf Club. Division one winner was Paul Pedreschi (Henllys GC) and Runner Up was Dr. Kash Josson (St. Deiniol GC). In Division 2, the winner was Mike Eccles (Rhos-on-Sea GC) and Runner Up was Frank Williams (Henllys GC).
All 42 players stayed out in challenging weather to support the event for which the County are very grateful. Thanks go to Rhos-on-Sea GC for hosting the event and the Bar and Catering facilities.

Congratulations to Rhos-on-Sea Golf Club who have won the 5 A-side Scratch Knockout Matchplay Competition for 2023 at Anglesey GC (Rhosneigr) on Sunday 17th September 2023.
Congratulations to Porthmadog GC who were Winners of the 7 A-side Handicap Knockout matchplay competition for 2023 at Anglesey GC (Rhosneigr) on Sunday 17th September 2023.
Congratulations to Bala GC for reaching the finals again, but were beaten 4-3 in the Final by Porthmadog GC at Anglesey Golf Club (Rhosneigr) on Sunday 17th September 2023.
24 players played at Holyead Golf Club on Sunday 13th August 2023. We would like to thank all the players who took part in our first Better Ball Competition, and to thank Holyhead Golf Club for the use of the course which was in great condition, thanks to the Greenkeeping staff.
Winners were brothers Adam Jones (Henllys Hall GC) and Ben Jones (Rhos-on-Sea GC) with 40 points and Runners Up were Ricky Lewis and Colin Williams, both from St. Deiniol GC with 39 points.
Congratulations to winners Adam Jones and Ben Jones are the first County Better Ball Champions. Adam plays in Henllys Hall GC and Ben plays out of Rhos-on-Sea.
Colin Williams and Ricky Lewis, both of St. Deiniol Golf Club in Bangor were Runners up.

Welsh Team Handicap Regional Qualifier
A total of 5 Clubs sent teams to the Regional Qualifier at Maesdu GC on Sunday 6th August 2023. Four Clubs sent 2 teams and one club sent just the one. A total of 36 players played in beautiful sunshine on a lovely course. Our thanks go to Maesdu Golf Club for courtesy of the Course, and to the Greenkeeping staff for presenting the course in great condition, considering that some of the Bunkers were unplayable yesterday after a considerable amount of rainfall.
St Deiniol Golf Club Team 1 scored 108 points from the Best 3 scores out of 4, and won the day. Maesdu Team 2 scored 104 points and Maesdu Team 1 scored 98 points finishing in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. These 3 teams will play in the finals at Celtic Manor (Roman Road Course) on Sunday September 3rd 2023

This year 22 teams have taken part and therefore a preliminary round will take place with 12 teams playing for 6 places in round 1.

The Menai Cup was played at Bull Bay GC and the players endured some difficult weather conditions at times.
Dylan Green took a clean sweep of trophies scoring the best Gross in the competitions, and was presented with the Caernarfonshire Cup for the second consecutive year.
The County Handicap Championships were held at Maesdu GC on Sunday 25th June 2023. Despite the gloomy weather and a brief heavy downpour, 32 players played for the title of County Handicap Champion. As well as the Overall Winner's prize, there were Winner and Runner Up prizes in 2 Divisions, one for handicaps 0-12 and one for 13-28.

A total of 29 players from across the County played at Caernarfon Golf Club for the Snowdonia Cup (incorporating the 1st Round of the Caernarfonshire Cup, the Caernarfonshire & District Scratch Cup and the Caernarfonshire & District Open Youth/Junior Scratch Championships) in beautiful sunshine. The Course was excellent and the Club extended their great hospitality to all.
Congratulations to Logan Scherpe (Aberdovey GC) on winning both Trophies and lies in a great position for the Menai Cup (incorporating the 2nd round of the Caernarfonshire Cup and the Caernarfonshire & District Scratch Cup) due to be played at Bull Bay on 23rd July 2023.
