On Sunday 10th & Monday 11th September, John Redmond from Conwy GC organised our County Seniors team at the Welsh Seniors Inter-Counties Championships at Builth Wells GC. They played 2 rounds Medal and Stableford, finishing in 4th place with a Medal total of 747. In the Stableford competition, the team finished in 2nd place with a total of 321 points just 10 points behind the Winners Brecon & Radnorshire (A) team.

A total of 7 County Golfing Unions sent a team of 6 of their very best players to the Inter-Counties Championships at Camarthen Golf Club. Jason Spencer led our team of Paul Roberts, Lee Jones, Tudur Evans, Charley Simpson and Alex Jaap on a blistering hot day to come in 10 under after the better ball round, just 2 points behind Dyfed and 1 point behind Glamorgan.
On day 2 the weather was cooler and we had a few showers. The course was in excellent condition and our hosts were hospitable. Caernarfonshire finished in 2nd place.
Players from the four North Wales Counties (Anglesey, Caernarfonshire, Denbighshire and Flintshire) competed at Conwy Golf Club on Sunday 20th August 2023. A total of 74 players took part in dry but breezy conditions. The 17th hole proved a very challenging hole for some.
Caernarfonshire were once again crowned North Wales Counties Champions, and our County Captain, Jason Spencer (Betws-y-Coed GC) brought in the lowest Gross score of the day 71.
Best Nett Score 74-4-70 was scored by young Michael Collis from Mold GC, who also scored the Lowest Gross in the Keegan Bowl Championship played on the same day.
Congratulations to the Winners and runners up. Thanks to Conwy Golf Club who hosted this event and to Catering and hospitality staff, including the Greenkeeping Staff for presenting the Course in excellent condition for the players.
The team consisted of 6 players from Caernarfonshire Clubs, Lee Jones, Paul Roberts, Alex Jaap and Matt Peacock (all from Conwy GC) with Iwan Lewis (Royal St. David's (Harlech) GC) and County Captain Jason Spencer (Betws-y-Coed GC). Long time County Player, Eilir Angel accompanied the team on the course.
The morning Foursomes saw Caernarfonshire team win 2.5-0.5 and head into the Clubhouse for lunch, after which they all headed out again for the 6 singles matches. The afternoon singles matches were played in very hot weather and the team won 4 of the six matches and halved the other 2.
The final score for the day was 7.5 - 1.5 to Caernarfonshire.
