Shaun Harpin Named Caernarfonshire County Player of the Year for 2026

Caernarfonshire Golf Union is delighted to announce Shaun Harpin of North Wales Golf Club as its 2026 County Player of the Year, following an outstanding season both individually and as a member of the county squad.

Shaun’s standout achievement came at the prestigious Aberconwy Trophy, where he claimed the title after 72 holes of competition at Conwy and Maesdu — following in his father’s footsteps and adding another special chapter to the family’s golfing story.

His success at the Aberconwy was just one highlight of an impressive year. Shaun also finished runner-up in the Trubshaw, was joint lowest qualifier in the strokeplay section at the Welsh Amateur Championship, and finished in 10th place in the Welsh order of merit. He also won every match in the Welsh Teams, helping North Wales Golf Club to a fantastic semi-final appearance, and was club champion.

Shaun continued to deliver when representing Caernarfonshire, finishing as the county’s lowest-scoring pairing at the Welsh Intercounties alongside Paul Roberts. His contributions were valuable parts of another successful season for the team, which retained the overall league title.

And there was another major milestone away from the golf course, with Shaun welcoming a new baby during the year — making 2026 a memorable one in more ways than one!

Everyone at Caernarfonshire Golf Union congratulates Shaun on a fantastic season and thanks him for his continued commitment to the county. A thoroughly deserved recognition of his performances throughout 2026.
