About the CDGU

The Caernarfonshire & District Golf Union (CDGU) represents golf clubs across Caernarfonshire and Anglesey. Our role is to promote and support amateur golf throughout the region, working closely with our member clubs to grow the game and provide opportunities for golfers of all ages and abilities.

We organise county competitions, support club initiatives, develop junior players and manage representative county teams. Through collaboration with clubs and Wales Golf, we aim to ensure the long-term strength and success of golf across the county.

The Caernarfonshire & District Golf Union represents clubs across the region, supporting golf at every level of the game.

Golf development

Growing the game of golf across our county is at the heart of what we do. We work with clubs, coaches and Wales Golf to encourage participation, improve player development and support initiatives that make golf accessible to everyone.

From grassroots participation to elite performance pathways, CDGU helps create opportunities for golfers to improve their skills and enjoy the game throughout their lives.

Junior golf

Supporting young golfers is one of our most important priorities. Through competitions, coaching opportunities and development programmes, we aim to inspire the next generation of players.

Our junior pathway helps talented golfers progress from club golf to county teams and beyond, providing the guidance and experience needed to reach higher levels of the game.

CDGU proudly selects and supports Juniors, Men’s and Senior county teams to represent Caernarfonshire in inter-county competitions and matches.

These teams showcase the best amateur golfers from our member clubs and play an important role in promoting competitive golf across the region while inspiring future county players.

Each year, CDGU organises a range of county competitions and championships, bringing together golfers from clubs across the region.

Events such as the Caernarfonshire Cup, Snowdonia Cup and County Handicap Championships provide opportunities for players to compete at county level & enjoy competitive golf on some of our finest courses

County Cards

The County Card scheme provides affiliated club members with the opportunity to play golf at participating clubs across the country at reduced green fees.

It’s a great way for golfers to experience new courses, meet other players and enjoy the wider golfing community while representing their home club.
